This is normal behavior but asked many times.
Find yourself some information about canonical urls. Doesn't solve the (non-)issue but is good for SEO.

Being able to get to pages using all kinds of crap in the URL means nothing as far as SEO as no search bot is going to make up links they ONLY follow links found on sites...

What is the best way to implement the canonical url in a cmsms template?

Look at the default installed template in cmsms 'NCleanBlue'.
