[SOLVED]Module installation problem

Hello!
I have a question considering an error while installing or upgrading modules and I can't find anything similar on forums so I thought someone out there might know something about this strange issue...
On existing domain (already running CMSMS 1.11.4) I have installed in subfolder a new version of CMSMS (1.11.4) so I could test a new version of my website. Everything works fine but when I try to upgrade a module or install a new one, nothing really happens: In address bar I can see the usual redirection of address but when it's done, I don't get "module succesfully installed" message. It ends on a blank page without any messages or buttons or links. All I can do is to hit browser's "back" button, then "reload" and I end up with same modules as before. Which means nothing was installed.
Server is running a 5.3 PHP and I don't believe it causes this issue.
I'm not using existing PHP database (from old version of site), I have created a new PHP db before installing the CMSMS in subfolder.
Old version of my website was upgraded to 1.11.4 (from 1.9) and I can see the same issue there. That's why I have tried with clean installation in the subfolder so I could avoid mixing old and new data.
I suspect it's a server-side problem but I'm not sure.
Help, anyone?
Thanks in advance and best regards!
Jakov
