extract an RSS feed link from content section

Hi.
i have been asked to extract an RSS feed from a website powered by CMS made simple. I have no previous experience with this CMS and as a result i am getting quite frustrated with it.
There is a "news" section located under the "content" tab. There are many articles in this section. I want to syndicate the news section as an RSS feed. Well, actually, i would be happy to syndicate ANYTHING as an RSS feed but i just cant figure out how.
I was also asked to do the same thing with Joomla. I had to manually construct a url like the following...
"http://mysite.com/index.php?option=com_ ... d&type=rss
Is there a way i can do this with CMS made simple?
I have also installed a module called Calguys Feed Maker. The first thing it says in the "help" section is "First you must create a new feed, and fill in the parameters supplied." However, it provides no information about how to do this. Secondly, when i do try to create a feed i get the following error "Fatal error: Call to undefined method CGFeedMaker::mkdirr()".
So i guess thats a no go.
Can somebody PLEEEEEASE give me a clue as to what to do?
Thanks.
