I have exactly same problem with czech translations. I tried it with multiple modules, but none of them worked. I wrote about it in the forum, but it seems nobody knows what to do. In the meantime you can copy all contents of lt_LT file to en_US file. I assume, that you don't need multilanguage site. But there is another problem - translation files are using html entities - looks like they aren't handled in UTF. Are they?

If that is a true copy/paste of your tag you have " at the front and ' at the end of the lt_LT try it with single quotes front and back, and use them on all the calls.

Well I don't know what to tell you as it seems you tried setting your front end to lith. and that didn't work, I tried using it, lang='lt_LT', and all it did was change the more text to [Daugiau].

  sorry I can't help you....
