Upgrade from 1.7.1 to ? to get to 1.11.4

Can anyone tell me which upgrades I can skip to get a clients 1.7.1 install to the most recent CMSMS 1.11.4 version?

Or should I just upgrade version to version.

I'm not using any special modules in the system other then the CalGuys Calendar.

It mostly depends on Modules being used, but in terms of core you could go to 1.9.4.2 -> 1.10.3 -> 1.11.4 making sure you read changelogs and make changes in templates (for exmaple do not forget changing {stylesheet} to {cms_stylesheet}), UDT's and using Modules that are up to date
