Hi. A client of mine wants a non-flash mp3 player on his site. Is there such a thing for cmsms?
(he has AOL and can't see the flash one i used before on his mambo site; see discography buttons on
http://bernardharris.com/
he wants to move away from mambo to something simpler; the backend is too complicated for him).

Can't see there being a better alternative than a Flash based player. You should be able to code one that works with AOL.
Otherwise, you will probably compromise something else, or a different browser by getting it to play with AOL.
TBH AOL as a browser is not used very much these days, and maybe you should suggest he changes browser or uses a different browser with his AOL connection as the AOL one is not very up to date...

3dcandy, thanks for the info using a different aol browser. i had no idea. i've never used aol. i have two clients on it and they come close to accusing me of lying when i've told them i've done things like updated or upgraded their sites ... especially with things like flash. after lots of head scratching and fussing we realized that aol was the problem not the person (me) they hired to do their site.
unfortunately they've never apologized for cussing me out.
so what's the fix? how do i tell them to configure another aol browser? or is it they just have to download IE or FF and install it on their harddrive?

With AOL you just sign on and minimize it then fire up a diff. browser IE comes on all windows comp. but would recommend Firefox as they will not be so vulnerable, 90% of MS patches have to do with IE.

yup, Mark is right. Just minimise the browser and fire up Firefox...
As a quickie, just going on a tangent, AOL 9.0 has been classed as spyware by several companies, as the installer doesn't ask about overwriting
system files (IE) and installs software the user didn't agree to. Uninstall fails to repair what the installer installed...AOL leaking users faster than the UK water system...which believe me is hard to achieve!
