Which is the best approach to make page of articles(not new)

I am new in SMSCS. I have a task to design template for list of products for any company, each item must have Icon, Title, Status, Short description. Title is the link to the full text.
I searched for make a template with list of articles that can be easy editing with frontend user, but it was useless.
I don't found source yet, that can explain how to do it. News module is vast for this, I think. Can somebody help in this task? Thanks!
