Add password to frontend-user group

Hi,
Have this group called Personal since before that have had access to a certain web page (closed for all other visitors) called Internal. When trying the login it seems that you can write any word in the user field as well as the password field and still get access to the page.
I have checked the settings to add a password to this specific group but cannot find any way to do that.
So my question is: where do I change the settings for user groups?
I know this is an old version of CMS, and the company is looking into an upgrade (they have not paid any attention for several years to their website until recently). So I would need at least a quick fix to get this function in place without having to upgrade right now.
Many thanks in advance for looking into this.
Best regards
