I've recently setup a newsletter system for a client using the latest versions of NMS(2.5.5 which now uses the CGJobMgr(1.2.6.1) on a cms installation 1.10.3. All appeared fine in testing, but now in sending a real message I've got a few problems which I hope someone can help me resolve.

I've setup the job manager with a task running out of cron every 10 minutes as suggested.

Once I setup the mail and created a new job it started sending and all appeared fine. Looking at the progress in the NMS jobs tab it got to 14% and then appeared to stop sending out mails although I got no error messages. I left it overnight and nothing happened, no more emails were sent. There are approximately 4100 emails in the job of which around 600 went out OK.

Because nothing else had happened I tried to pause the job via the nms jobs tab. It paused OK and the status updated as being paused.

I then tried to unpause the job, using the resume button on the same nms screen. That didn't appear to work, I got a mostly empty admin screen with the newsletter made simple heading but no result at all. Could there be a bug in the admin script it's calling?

I then thought I might be able to unpause it via the job processing manager admin area. On clicking the resume button there I then got an error message saying 'Cannont unpause this job (bad or invalid status)'.

Now I'm somewhat stuck, I can't see anything obvious in the logs relating to errors and I'm not sure what I can try next to get the job started again and finish sending these emails.

Can anyone suggest a way forward with this? I can provide more details or the output of any logs if it will help. Is there a way for me to reset the paused flag manually, I can update the nms or cgjobmgr tables directly if need be?

Any advice and suggestions gratefully received!

Hello,

I'm following up my own post here. I'm pleased to say that the issues I was experiencing have been resolved.

I was about to uninstall the module and reinstall an older, known working module when I realised that new versions of NMS & CGJobMgr had been posted. I updated to these latest versions NMS 2.5.6 & CGJobMgr 1.2.7 and I was able to resume the job which was previously stuck.

So thanks Calguy for posting these updates, normal mailing services have been resumed!

I would really appreciate it if you could give an overview of how to set up to send background jobs for NMS using the CGJobMgr as I took a look at the help and it wasn't clear to me.

Greetings. I can't seem to get NMS to send email through the CGJobMgr. Have the latest versions of CMSMS, NMS, and CGJobMgr.

I'm getting various errors but the best I can make happen is a completed job with an admin email message:

No NMS content is sent. All are test email addresses to my various accounts. A total of 10 recipients for the job and all are addresses that used to resolve.

Also seem to have to click the URL a few times to get any action to take place.

CMSMailer is working fine to all addresses failing under CGJobMgr.

I'm surprised that site even runs, it looks like you have a lot of very old modules in it...

As for NMS did you set up a cron job..?
