Hi all ,

We have installed CMSMS 1.03beta , basically flawlessly . Now for someone like me with very limited knowledge on CMS , etc , that is an acheivement in itself ( smile ) . So that says a lot for CMSMS .

My question is for security , do I need to set the permissions on these files/folders back from 777 , to 755 ?
    *  tmp/templates_c
    * tmp/cache
    * uploads
    * uploads/images
    * modules

Also are there any other settings for security that I should be doing ?

I have set config.php back to 444 .

Thanks again

DA

No, if you do that your webserver has no access to these directories/files. Just remove the /install directory and your ready to start with CMSMS  ;D

Thanks very much ODF for that .

Is there anything else that should be done to aid in security ?

Watch the website of CMSMS closely and install all stable new versions of CMSMS, if version 1.0 is out of beta stage I will definitley install it.

For the security of CMSMS you must also make your passwords for login at least 6 digits and as username for the administrator not Admin or admin.

For the rest it is up to your website host to take care of the security of the server.
