How to sort your items in Shop Made Simple

Hi, trying to build a shop with SMS but i can't figure out how to sort the items in the list. When i add attributes like list item it seems to work, however, i'd like to inverse the result.

What i want is: a cd shop where the newest releases will be on the top of the page. Using the attributes (item number / list item) causes the newest releases to be down at the page... not what i want.

Anyone an idea how to solve this?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Ton

o it's about http://www.marnixbusstra.nl/cms/index.php?page=media

already tried to add the release year to the name of the product... but that didn't help either

Hi tvdk,

There is no such sorting available on the product list. However the sorting is done by position. Per product you will have to enter the position. I understand with your newest product on top that is not very helpful. However, you may try to prepare a UDT that automatically changes the position based upon date of the release of you cd (which you now do have in the description).
I have not checked it, but maybe smarty can be of help.

Last method is to request a new parameter (sorting) via the feature request list of the module (which may take to long for you at this moment).

Thanks for the reply, glad to hear it's no my 'fault' but just a function missing. Would the helpful though.

For now i solved the problem indeed with changing their positions... using the 'countdown' method now, should work.

Strange thing that i keep experiencing is that 'updating' results in an error message (saying something like i don't have the permission to change any attributes) but still.... it does work.

Anyways, maybe an update will solve this problem.

tvdk,

Glad that you have found a bypass. Maybe an idea to push in a feature request for this.
The updating should not give an error. However if it does please give some more detail, so I can try to solve it (if it is caused by one of the programs of the module). With the current information I can't do anything.
