A site I'm working on needs to enable visitors to book events, but the client does not wish to provide online payments at this time. The details of the booking simply need to be sent to the client and customer and payment will be taken by phone or cheque. So, it's basically a shopping cart without payment.
Any suggestions for modules to provide this, and to allow the client to add and edit the available events, and that could be easily switched to online payments later if required?
Events booking - not quite ecommerce

Hi
Maybe you could try Availability http://dev.cmsmadesimple.org/projects/availability
Maybe you could try Availability http://dev.cmsmadesimple.org/projects/availability
What does this do?
This module provides a complete online reservation management system for hotels, car rental agencies, or any other purpose where particular "resources" can be reserved on a daily basis.
This module provides a mechanism for frontend users to create and manage reservations, and to contact administrators with information and questions about reservations.
A complete admin interface allows authorized administrators to manage resources, events, reservations, and all aspects of the displayable items.

Thanks Coldman, I'll check that out.
Re: Events booking - not quite ecommerce
At first sight, Availability doesn't seem suitable.
The events in question are tuition courses that may be a single day or up to 12 individual days spread over a number of months. The module appears geared for single events of continuous duration, and unable to manage a single multi-day event that comprises, say, 20th Jan, 11th Feb, 18th Mar.
Maybe I'm missing something and not appreciating its full potential.

Re: Events booking - not quite ecommerce
Products and Calguy's e-commerce suite is a very versitile, yet pretty straight forward, solution - and you can configure it to skip the payment gateway.
The products module is highly customizable, so you can template it anyway you need.
You can even add "stock" for each product (ie each event) which could be useful if there are limited seats on each event.
best of luck!

Thanks Zoorlat.
I've just been trying the e-commerce suite and the combination of Products, Cart, Orders, CGEcommerceBase, CGExtensions, CGPaymentGatewayBase, FrontEndUsers looks very promising.
Stock sounds a good suggestion so will check that out too.

How do you mean to use "stock"?
I'm currently setting up a website where the customer will be selling a certain amount of packages so they want to be able to show on the front end how many are already sold and how many are left?
Thanks
