What is future Web delopers' "tools"?

Hi,

I can do websites with CMSMS and smarty, but thats it. Motivation to learn more is quite good. But which book I should take. What is your opinion what is future web developers tools. Is it Ajax? Java?

Well, jQuery is a must for every web developer today.

And if you want to learn more and smart, learn Java. :)
