Problem with legacy Googlemaps module v0.1.4

Hi,

A quick question:
I have a problem with a legacy site running GoogleMaps module 0.1.4 on CMSMS 1.2

I recently became aware that the map on the site has stopped working (possibly several months ago). I think this is probably a Google API issue, but not sure.
Q:
Is this something I can fix by updating the module?
And are the newer modules backwardly compatible with CMSMS 1.2 ?

Can anyone shed any light on this for me or offer any pointers? I'd be grateful.

You do understand that 1.2 Version is dated back in 2007, it is no longer supported and i don't think anyone rembers any bugs or fixes for any module from back then ;)

You are highly advised to UPGRADE your CMSMS version for numerous Security and Bugfix reasons.

Hi Uniqu3,

Thanks for your reply Yes I do know this. I have advised the site owner (a former client) in the past. Basically it's out of my hands to upgrade - The site is a non profit, there's no money, I'm just trying to help out, doing it for free. But I don't have time to go through the upgrade and inevitable fix process this would entail.

I am just hoping one of the one of the GoogleMaps module devs or someone with more experience than I with this module could save me hours of search because they have the knowledge in their heads!

My research suggests the problem is due to a (relatively) recent change in the way Google formats the map links: adding '&output=embed’ to the end.

Can anyone tell me roughly where to look in the googlemaps module to find the bit of code I need to edit?

Appreciate the help.
