Upgrade page started appearing instead of admin section! HELP!

Ok - dunno what I have done, but a site that i logged into fine yesterday has now started re-routing me to the /install/upgrade.php when i try to login.
Annoyingly the upgrade then fails (see below), and then just drops into the front end. I can't even just re-install as I can't access the Dbase to extract the work I have already done.
Warning: main(upgrades/upgrade.18.to.19.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/ros01/public_html/install/upgrade.php on line 188 Warning: main(upgrades/upgrade.18.to.19.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/ros01/public_html/install/upgrade.php on line 188 Warning: main(): Failed opening 'upgrades/upgrade.18.to.19.php' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/share/pear') in /home/ros01/public_html/install/upgrade.php on line 188
Why is it trying to find a file that blatently isn't in that folder - where can i get it and wwill simply adding it and running the ugrd sort things out? Why is this happening to me!!! (ok - i guess the last one is because I didn't delete the install folder, right?)
Was supposed to be seeig the customer later - if anyone can help me outa this I would be grateful!
John.
