Postgres-8.x support? Upgrading from 1.8.2

Help with getting the CMS CORE package up and running. This does not include 3rd party modules, PHP scripts, anything downloaded via module manager or from any external source.

Postgres-8.x support? Upgrading from 1.8.2

Post by rshepard »

I had designed a nice site using version 1.8.2, but it broke when I upgraded postgres to the 9.x series. Because I have used postgres for more than a dozen years (and sqlite occassionally) I see no need to install, learn, and support a third dbms: mysql. If the current version 1.1.0 will work with postgres I'll do the upgrade from 1.8.2 through 1.9.4.2 (assuming that I don't need to have the application running).

My alternative is to host the site externally with someone who runs and knows mysql. If I do that, can I take my existing data and cmsms site format files and move them to the new installation running 1.1.0? I'd really hate to have to start from scratch designing a web site, particularly since I don't have the time to do so.

Your advice and suggestions are appreciated,

Rich
