Can I create a second website with same CMSMS software?

I have a CMSMS website for my business. I am now thinking of setting up a second business, with its own seperate website. I want to host it with the same host, but on a different URL. My question is, once I've registered a URL and booked a new hosting account, do I just upload the CMSMS files from my comp to the new hosting space, same as I did with the first site? I do I need a second download/installation of CMSMS? If the latter, how should I prevent the two sets of CMSMS from getting mixed up?

Depends on your hosting.
Usually if you register additoinal domain you can specify in your hosting CP where that new domain should point.
So you could create a subfolder, point your new domain there and upload cmsms files.
Create new Database for second site and install it using your new domain, credentials of your new databse.

Edit: I had an incorrect session.save_path setting in the php.ini file. After fixing that, everything worked fine.
Sorry for the noise.

uniqu3,

I have a similar question as OP, and I am trying to do exactly as you suggest. My hosting service allows pointing a domain to a subdirectory, for example root/site1/, which I did. Browsing to the domain name does indeed open the Home.html file in the subdirectory as desired.

I then FTP'd all the latest CMSMS files to that subdirectory and tried to install CMSMS. Unfortunately, after selecting the language and clicking on Submit, I get the following error: "Session not working, you have problem with some modules and functionality! Ask your provider, exiting!"

I expect I have a setting somewhere that I need to change but have no idea where. I would greatly appreciate your advice.
