Orders Module: manual credit card processing

almost finished with my website but run in to a small problem with the orders module not having enough functionality for manual card processing.
i have a card terminal in the shop (with ssl on relevant pages) so want to use this to process card information rather than having to pay paypal their percentage and be limited by their limitations on how much i can withdraw each year

the orders module lacks the info i need from the customer though:
card type(meastro, visa, etc)
Valid From
Issue number
how would i add these ? i have looked all over the forums and internet but cant find anyone talking about this but i have looked at the template and found the tags {$ccnumber} and so on. but cannot find were they are referenced so i could perhaps add my own.
i do not like holding the card information on site so will be figuring out a way to edit card info to only last 4 digits once payment has been accepted.
