Setting Default Page

I have set one of my pages as default,
I followed this instruction in document handbook
To select a page to be the default page, click in the Default column for that page. You will then have to click OK in the popup dialog.
I did this but it is now directed that page to my .com page and it used to be /home url
I want to have no default page at the moment as I am still working on it. I cant remove the 'tick'
How can I return it to how it was, so there is no default page?
Thanks
Ryan

You can not have "no" default page in CMSMS, sorry...

but I did not have one before I selected the page.
I was not aware that once I chose one it would change the structure of the URL for that page.
So is it true that I could have had no default page if I had not selected one?
but now that I have I cant remove it?

If you don't have a default page, what do you expect the site to do when you go to whatever.com ? It's supposed to go to one of your pages.... Your default page.

I am integrating CMSMS to an existing live website and the .com page is redirected to .com/forum at the moment.
When I am finished with the editing of the CMSMS I will have the default CMSMS page the .com url.
While I am working on it I had no default page selected.
the url of the page I was going to make default was .com/home, but now that I have selected it as the default page it has changed the url to .com and it makes it hard for me to view that page. when I click home in the menu it opens my existing forum.
My question is
I was able to have no selected default page, there was no problems if I had not selected one ?
But now that I have selected one, I can not deselect it?
(I was not aware that the url would change when I selected it)

OK.. I just saw this in one of my installs. I think that after I renamed the default page, it stopped showing it as default in the admin panel, though it is acting as default.

Thanks Wishbone,
I will try that

CMSMS will always have a default page in the set. When developing you could put the system down message in GlobalSettings to make the homepage invisible for outside viewing. I havent seen the behaviour of having a non default-homepage in the recent versions. You could make a temporary page, which you make default as the entry-page, which will allow you to do the further development at the side, but there will always be a default-page, which will show as domain.com/

You might have been misunderstanding me.... There is still a default page.... it just doesn't show it in the admin panel.
