CMS Made Simple Forums

Can CustomContent be configured to also check for a user of CMSMS?  Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but right now the only way to see my custom content is if I login as a front end user.  If I login as a CMSMS user where I can go to the admin section of the website I can't see the custom content.  Is there a setting to check for a CMSMS user?
