i understand that the album module rezises the thumbnail images and thats great. is it possible for the larger version to also be resized? i have an album of pictures taken from an event viua a digital camera which is a particularly large size. there are over 300 pictures. it would be great if there was some code that took the picture and resized it to a pre determined size. eg 640*480 for the horizontal pics and a similar dimension for the vertical. if there was a waay of entering the values so it could be tailored or have preset values to choose from. i am not sure how easy or difficult this is to impolement but anything along these lines is better than having to go thru 150Mb of photos resizing each one

i would like to know if a solution can be reached for this

Not sure what sort of machine you are on, but there is plenty of software out there for both Mac and PC to batch resize large numbers of images, before uploading them to the Album module. I guess you just want to resize one dimension and let the other scale relative.

It will save a lot of uploading time to re-size them first. You can also reduce the image quality to cut down on load times or apply any other processing required.

Hope this helps

For that I use FastStone Photo Resizer (Free for Home Users).
Great tool for bulk resizing foto's and adding a watermark.

I agree, it is best to resize your camera originals and set them to a suitable compression.
This also gives you the oppertunity to correct any red eye, colour balance, sharpness etc. I also like to create widescreen type pictures, or crop  unwanted areas.

I use http://www.xnview.com for image manipulation.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but if you do need to put the originals up, you can alway create a sub gallery called yourgalleryname_originals.
