Hi. I'm running CMS Made Simple 1.7.1 "Escada".
On the extenstion form builder, I have created a form for a new business enquiry containing:
Full name.
Company.
Postcode.
Email address.

I have set them all up on the form builder main setting as:
Field Type:
'Text Input'

Required:
'Require a response for this Field'

Field Validation:
no validation

Maximum Length:
80 characters

Read Only:
(unticked)


My query: How do you set the minimum number of characters allowed to be inputted into the postcode field. Because although it is a response required field, you can get away with inputting just one letter and pressing submit.

Can I control the minimum character input on the text input field on my new form build?

First thing i would advise you is upgrading your CMSMS version, for security reasons.

When adding a form field of type "Text Input" there is "Advanced Settings" tab now select for exampel "nummeric" in "Field Validation"
And you can limit character in "Maximum leght" field.

Thank you very much for your reply. However the numeric value ultimately means the postcode lettering is not accepted.
I have tried fiddling around with the advanced settings for and looking at other form field than 'text Input' - for example creating 8 as the maximum chracter limit.

None of my trial options are working. It could do with a 'minimum character limit maybe this would solve it rather than just a maximum.

Is my thinking correct anyone - does the template not allow for this. Will will be inserting our own postcode lookup functionality in this field at some point which would eradicate this problem, but until then I will miss opportunities for fullpostcodes due to the lack of limitation.
