CTL Module Maker dropdowns?

I have a module created with CTLModuleMaker. One table A that gets some informations from other tables B and C in the module. A gets this information from drop-down and multi-select fields from B and C. When I add a new intite to A table and do not select a choice from a drop-down or multi-select the default choice is made. I would like these choices to be blank if nothing is selected.
Am I missing something?
