Hi All,
I recently unzipped and loaded all of the content/files from the CMS zip file to my web hosting account (through FTP). All files are on there correctly. I'm completely lost the next step - how do I get to the CMS admin login? I go to my webpage and type /admin behind the url and nothing. I looked through all of the videos and it skips from unzipping/downloading the files to customizing a template (it says the next video will show you how to set up the admin panel, etc) Please help!
Brandi

Could it be you uploaded to the wrong directory? One that has no public access?

All files are uploaded in their entirety.
I get this error message now -
Database Connection Failed
Error: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2) (2002)
Function Performed: CONNECT
Host/DB: localhost/cms
Database Type: mysql
What is my next step? Is that were I have to change the directories to 777? Where do I do this through my web hosting company?
Thanks!

I got the write php permissions from my web hosting company
755 for folder permissions and 644 for file permissions. So I changed the following to 755:
tmp
tmp/templates_c
tmp/cache
uploads
uploads/images
modules
Do I need to change all of my file permissions to 644 (its set at 755 default)? Because now I get this error message:
Database Connection Failed
Error: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2) (2002)
Function Performed: CONNECT
Host/DB: localhost/cms
Database Type: mysql

I did all of the steps. But when I create a database it tells me the cms (name) is already taken, which I've never created one yet?
I then went to the install page, clicked english. And then I receive this message:
Session not working, you have problem with some modules and functionality! Ask your provider, exiting!
What is going on now?? All my permissions are set to what they need to be. Is it because I had to create a database called cms_test rather than cms as instructed?
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Before we all jump in to help
1) Is this an install or upgrade?
2) If you just go to your domain name address, what is shown?
3) If you FTP into your domain name, is there a config.php file and is there an admin folder?
4) If you upload a file to what you think is the hosting space of your domain name, can you see that file if you type in
yourdomainname/file.ext ?
5) What is the domain name?

Are you on GoDaddy or another shared hosting site? If that is the case, try using a name that is unique to your site like
mysitecms
I mention that b/c the same happened to me with my GoDaddy hosting.
