CMS Made Simple Forums

Hi,
I am setting up my second website with CMSMS, for a French association, so I'm rather inexperienced.

I installed 1.9.4.1 "Faanui" on a distant linux server, created one page OK, copied the templates and stylesheets I wanted to use, and set up the site as they wanted it.

The default "General" News category was visible, and I think it worked OK.

I then removed all the default installed pages to leave only my new page as the default page. The page appeared OK, and the default News item appeared fine on clicking its title, but the link to the "General" category brought up a 404 Page not found.

I have since removed and recreated the "General" category, removed the intial News item and the General category, added 2 new categories and a new news item linked first to one and then to the other category, but the category link is still not found.

Anyone inclined to help can see what's happening here :

In the url when clicking on category item i see detailpage=news, so either creating a page named "news" or chaning detail page parameter should fix the problem.

I found the reference to "news" in the section for News in the copy of the "CSSMenu left + 1 column" template I am using:

I removed it and the category is now shown properly, thanks again!
