CMS Made Simple Forums

Just curious, these projects never seem to take hold. Too complicated? Simpler way to do it? Just wondering, as I'm preparing to roll out a small town news website and I had hoped to have a free classified ads section. Had hoped for a module to make things easier. It appears to be something that isn't available in the more popular CMS's.

In the past, I've used the News module for a classified ads section, as it has the frontend user input ability. It is quite a flexible module.
