Will this version of CMS Version: 1.9.4.1 work on RHEL6 x86?

Would it be better to run it on RHEL5/CentOS equivalent?

Has anyone installed this on RHEL6 x86 or x86_64?

Any advice would be great.

thanks

Has anyone installed this on RHEL6 as of yet?

Would it be advisable to install on RHEL5.6?

I dont know about RHEL6, but if you talk about CMSMS as production release, then yes, 1.9.4.1 is latest stable.

AFAIK isnt there a specific OS thing concerning the CMSMS thing, that is more webserver related than OS related.

Thank you for the reply, I have some RHEL entitlements and it boots so much faster and it seems more streamlined.

I am waiting on CentOS 6 however I am not sure how long it will be.

So from your point of view I would not run into any dependency issues and/or OS issues by using RHEL6?

thanks again

You won't have luck with CMSMS under stock Centos 5.5 or 5.6, since they compile PHP 5.1.x without RegexIterator support.

You'd need to build your own PHP instance, which is not that difficult, but it might be easier just to choose a different distro at this point.

What distro would you recommend?

RHEL6 would that work?

I haven't actually used RHEL6, so I can't speak to it.

I've had success with Debian 5 or later, Ubuntu 10.04 or later, pretty much any recent Fedora, Windows Server 2003/IIS6, and Mac OS. I haven't tried on other platforms.

I have another server running RHEL6 x86_64 and I did a yum list php

5.3.2-6.el6_0.1

Is this new enough?

CMSMS requires PHP5.2.4+, so that version is high enough PHP-wise.

Thanks to everyone, sorry for the many questions I had on php.

I am still learning on php/mysql so I am new to this arena.

Thanks a million for answering the question(s)!

This forum is extremely helpful, *I only wish CentOS6 was released*... now

I like CentOS since I the packages from various repo's can be added, with RHEL it will disable the ability to update since it is not from the RHEL channels.

Thanks again,
Scott
