We just launched Honolulu Fish Company's redesigned site based on their rebranding efforts. The graphics and color palette draw largely from those items.

TURN YOUR SPEAKERS DOWN. One thing I couldn't get the client to concede to was no autoloading of videos. :(

The videos on each page are driven by the Player module; the site also takes advantage of the ability to designate a diferent image on each static page. The list of fish items is driven by the Cataloger module. We are also working on e-commerce for this site, but the client wanted the site live this week, sans shopping cart. Once the e-commerce is done, I'll update this post. That will be developed using CGecommerce, Products, Cart and Orders. Our lead programmer is going to tie the catalog items to the products.

The site is hosted by Arvixe and I have to say I'm quite impressed with its performance. :)

Once it loads it's an interesting site. On DSL the site took nearly 25 seconds to load with nothing at all showing. I think most people might just click away feeling the site is down. I'll try a speed test at work tomorrow with a T1 line.

That slow? What browser? I tested the site in,FF (with cacheing turned off), Safari, Opera 11, IE7, and Chrome. I am on broadband. The video takes a bit to fully load, but the rest of the site loads right up.

Thanks for offering to check. :)

I used IE8 & FF Ver 3.6.14 Using a standard home DSL line from Qwest at 1.5 Mbps. This is the slowest and most common Qwest DSL package.

My son has a you tube clone website running at 7 Mbps without the same delay.

It takes a long time for the video to load - about 42 seconds on my DSL line. In the meantime, you're looking at a black void. It might be better to have some background image, or a message telling the viewer that something is loading.

Also, the text on the Order Now button is partially below the button.
