WYSIWYG disappeared in page editor after permissions change

Hi, I just had v. 1.9.1 installed. When I go to edit a page, the box is checked for the WYSIWYG to show, but it is not displayed. The content itself looks ok, but the WYSIWYG is gone.

(I don't know if it matters, but I originally did not have admin permissions. Originally, the content editor worked fine -- the WYSIWYG was showing. Right after I was switched to admin, the WYSIWYG disappeared)

Thank you for any help.

Better upgrade to 1.9.4 and check again...

There were some cache issues that are solved in 1.9.4, and besides.... only current and previous version are supported ;)
So upgrading is adviced...

Did they re-release 1.9.4, or do we still have to apply the module manager patch?

@wishbone

1.9.4 is not re-released, so the patch is still recommended... But I dont see what the MoMa patch has to do with this wysiwyg issue...

Sorry.. I was getting off-topic. I was just reacting to your statement that only the latest and previous versions are supported. In my view, 1.9.2 is the latest 'stable' release, as I don't see any reference to the patch on any of the download pages. I'm not complaining, I just think that at least 1.9.2 should be supported, though that still has nothing to do with this topic either. :)

At least make sure it works in the tiny admin and check that you have an editor selected in your user preferences and in global settings...

Hi, thank you for the responses,

1. I chose to enable the WYSIWYG editor in the global settings (was not checked)

2. Double-checked that it was enabled under 'User preferences' also (it was already enabled).

3. Cleared my cache

Still, the WYSIWYG is not showing up . . . ?? Interestingly also, I have a video embedded, but the code is not showing up in the 'html' view. Also, when I uncheck the WYSIWYG and check it again, the video disappears. The video always remains on the actual web page though regardless.

Any other ideas?

Thank you again for helping!

I upgraded to the latest version today,

2. Set global settings and personal preferences to TinyMCE

and still the editor is not showing up.

I then set them to microTiny and the editor showed up. I still don't know what's up.

Also I went into module manager>preferences and set the "download chunk size to 755 because I read something about that on one of these forum posts. It wasn't clear what I was supposed to set to 755, so I changed that in the hopes that that was it...?

Thanks for helping. Although this isn't solved, at least I now have an editor.

Did you try reseting TinyMCE preferences?

The 755 was related to the folder permissions of [root]/modules and [root]/modules/tinyMCE...
