Can I save pages and restore them to a new site?

I would like to know if i already have a CMS Made Simple site created with pages and users, can i save everything and "paste" it into a newly created site?

The reason i am asking is when i installed the original pages, i did it via the web interface and used the servers IP address instead of the name. So the address starts off with 66.144.(ip address) I would like to recreate the site using the name of the server and copy and paste the info from my original site.

is this possible? if so, how in detail please.

I am using a OSX server and assume ill need to backup database as well.

Thanks,

mjd

If it is the same server you dont even need to do backup / restore (there is a module for that)

Just check your config.php and change every ip number to servers name (two or three settings)

if you want to do a complete backup / restore take a look at

http://wiki.cmsmadesimple.org/index.php ... New_Server

and

http://dev.cmsmadesimple.org/projects/databasebackup/ (only backups database)

There's another nice tool too - please look at

http://dev.cmsmadesimple.org/projects/massmover/
A module which allows you to (eventually, that is) move and entire site from one place to another, including whole database-structure with content, user-uploaded files, non-core modules, and optionally the whole shabang including the core.
