Content2?

Dear all,

I'm very new to all of this, but equally keen to learn as much as I can.  I've done a fair bit of reading around, but get lost quite quickly when the topic turn a bit more technical.  I figure the best way for me to learn is to have a play around, but I had a question which I imagine is fairly easily answered (and probably why I struggle so much to find the solution).

I followed the "How to create own template" site (http://www.icms.info/website-howto/own-template) and can follow how to add content etc.  I was wondering if any could tell me if there is a quick way of adding a '2nd' {content} section to a site.  For example, I'd like to have two basic columns on my website, the left one displaying one content page (eg. "How CMSMS Works") and then a right column displaying another content page (eg. "Default Templates Explained").  I think I understand how I could do this with the News feeder module, but this isn't exactly what I'd like and I imagine that there probably is a fairly simple and straightforward technique that would work much better.

Thank you all very much for any help you can give me and hope you all have a great NY!

I always say the first thing one do is should read all default content, it answers a lot of questions like yours...

Thanks Dr Css,

I've read (and re-read) this default content. I understand that I need to add the content block tag to the template, but I'm not sure how or where I create the content that this block tag refers to. I've tried creating a new page with the same name as the {content block='block name'} but this doesn't seem to work. I can't find anywhere in the default content that seems to help me. I would appreciate any help that anyone can give me, I feel really lost at the moment.

Thank you to anyone who might be able to give a bit of help or point me in the right direction. I really appreciate it.

I place a {content block='content2'} in my template.

Then go in the admin backend to one of the pages for which this template is valid.

Instead of one WYSIWYG textareas (called content) I have now two of them one called content, the other called content2.

Hope, that helps

That's totally fantastic! I knew it must've been quite simple and that I was missing some vital step!

Thank you both so much for your help!
