v1.82
Front End Cookies.
No FEU ... Just a regular standard set up out of the box. Has news, but that's about it.
So nothing that needs cookies.

I've no idea ...That's the point.
Standard installation, right out of the box and there's a cookie!
I know this from content not being seen as static content, so it must be setting a cookie

Searched where? In your sock drawer? ;-p
Think of cookies as delivery devices for chocolate chip goodness. Where the goodness is useful (generally encrypted) information.

Cookies are plain text files with little snippets of data, sometimes misused to invade your privacy, generally used to provide functionality. eg. are you logged in as an admin, editor etc.
Can you do without them? Yes - if all you want to do is look/browse.
Can you turn them off? Yes - though the answer is no if you're in a hosted environment.
The question you didn't ask is - are (HTTP) cookies a problem? The answer is - mostly no.

Thanks for explaining the obvious on cookies. However, had you of applied a little comprehension, you would have understood it was in relation to CMSMS, seeing as that's right where we are at is it not? Or is that too obvious?
I did actually look further than my sock draw, but found nothing. However, you seem to be an expert at finding such things, so if you could point out 3 CMSMS links that refer to NOT having cookies or cookie control and CMSMS, then I'd be most appreciative.
I look forward to seeing those 3 posts with eagerness!
