I am migrating a site to CMSMS 1.82. It is a fairly complex site given that there is a main site with several regional sub sites. I have built the main site and 2 sub sites with no problems but I connect to the database when trying to install the rest.

Each sub site has a different database and I created a list of usernames and passwords before I started that match the format of the name and password for the main site. I can go to the ISPs Control Panel and log into the databases using these credentials. When I try to do the install, I get no errors until I get to the database install. Using the same credentials that work in the Control Panel I get a bad username or password error. I checked with the ISP and I should be using localhost with the MySQL default port, which I am. The tech support guy placed a test PHP file in the install directory that I edited to add the credentials and it connects OK. But the install constantly fails.

Any ideas?

By migrating do you mean upgrading an older version to 1.8.2?...

If so you should be able to just run /install/upgrade.php...

If you mean moving a site you need to check that you are giving the correct name in the DB info field, every site I've moved, DB wise, always resulted in a new name for the DB...
