How do I Package up a theme I ported for distribution?

I've gotten my new theme pretty close, and I thought it might be nice to share.

How would I go about packaging it up for people to use?

goto Layout » Theme Manager first thing you see is Export...
on the right you see check box, check the one to export, at bottom clik Export button....
it spits out a file named theme.xml....

so..

what goes into that file?  just the layout? do you then also need to collect the files and stuff?  and what about graphics, etc?

i've exported lots of themes/templates all available on my site @  http://www.multiintech.com/index.php?pa ... te_gallery
everything has always come with it, when some one imports it there is a new folder made called theme and all img. ...etc. go in it and the template and CSS have theme: attached to the front, if you omport more than one theme you have to rename them so the next one can use the theme: perfix... if you have .js called out in the section the paths have to be changed as in....

you will need to change the paths to /theme/java/  least thats where it ends up when i do it,, and everything will begin with "theme:" CSS and the like, you delete that part and it will still work,

Hi Mark,

Just jumping in on this thread... I've got a nice admin theme (just changed colours) that I'd like to share. Ideas about how I can do that?

if it's one file it can be posted in a thread...
it won't take any thing other than .txt so if it's a .php or whatever you have to add .txt to the end and we take that off when we get it...
the admin doesn't have a so called theme template so you can't use the Theme Manager to export it as an .XML file....
oh ya you might want to have a screen shot so we know what were getting...
there is a little know page where you can upload themes to share...

Mark, dumb question here,

I really like alot of your templates you have on that site . . . but see no place to download any of the XML's for me to import.  Are they on there, or is the page just so a person can request one?

my templates are available on the page that uses them, or in the gallery of Templates i've been slowly adding links in the top of the larger images under the name of the template it says...  Download the Template in .zip format clik the word template and it will download the theme... as it says they're in .ZIP format so you have to unzip them to find the .xml file inside... can't download the .xml strait if i don't zip them and you clik it shows up as an xml doc. in a browser window...
if one of the templates has no zip of the theme and you want one let me know...

Well, I found one there that I liked better anyway, and it did have the template download.

I'll IM you; I seem to be having issues with the sidebar (and I know it's me).
