[SOLVED]HELP! Fatal error on upgrade

Hello

I am upgrading from 1.2 x to 1.7.2 (rather than go straight to 1.8x). Running PHP 5.2.9. MySQL 5.0.91-community

I uploaded all the 1.7.2 files and overwrote the existing.

This is the message I get when I go to /insall/upgrade.php after the intro. message:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare lang() (previously declared in /home/****/public_html/install/translation.functions.php:29) in /home/****/public_html/lib/translation.functions.php on line 98

Where have I gone wrong please?

Thanks

Martin

Can anyone help please?

I am really stuck on this one. If it comes to it, I will have to re-install the old version but I don't want to do this as I am trying to catch up with the latest issues.

Thanks

Martin

I have just tried to upgrade to 1.7 rather than 1.7.2 and still get this error message:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare lang() (previously declared in /home/****/public_html/install/translation.functions.php:29) in /home/****/public_html/lib/translation.functions.php on line 98

Please tell me what I have to do to solve this problem. I am quite happy to go back to 1.2 but everyone says that we should try to keep up to date.

I think I have better shut up. Suddenly, it works! Upgraded OK.

Don't ask me why. Miracles can happen.

Sorry to bother anyone.
