Hi,

Just upgraded and I see the custom 404 handling has gone ...

Please tell me there's a bug! That was a great thing to have.

Looked for a workaround on the forum  as I'm assuming there may be a new way of doing it, but found no results.

Can anyone advise?

Yep, it is gone....

As it was no 'real' content-page, search from a 404-page broke, amongst other things.

The one in the globalsettings is now replaced by a page of ContentType "ErrorPage". This has been in for some releases now, hence the removal in later releases.

Exactly how do I get a 404 working now?

Content -> Pages.

Add New Content

Select "Error Page" at the dropdown for the ContentType.

Type the text that you want.

Submit.

No need to feel foolish...

Thing is that there were issues, as it acted as a page, but was no real page....

So some releases ago, the content-type ErrorPage was introduced. Now, some releases later, the cleanup was done.... In general when logic is deprecated, other logic is introduced. Some releases later, deprecated logic is removed then. Same is f.e. done with {sitemap}, this was deprecated and {site_mapper} came in, to handle inactive/hidden pages better. Now {sitemap} is removed as well, as {site_mapper} has been in for some time...

Just created a page with {site_mapper} in it.

Only listed the menu items though ...

{site_mapper} is just a wrapper around the menu manager, so the fact that it only listed the menu items is normal
