Hi,

I'm trying to upgrade from 1.7.1 to 1.8.2. However, post-uploading the new version and clicking on 'install' on www.(mydomain).com/install/upgrade.php, I get an install screen that says "Thank you for upgrading to 1.7.1 Escada", which is my current version.

Continuing through the upgrade results in no visible change to my version - the admin panel says I'm still on version 1.7.1.

I've tried uploading both the full 1.8.2 as well as the full 1.8, but both times the same problem occurs.

Been up till 4am trying to figure this out so any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Sounds like you uploaded wrong version, or it's not overwriting what you have, how did you get all the folders/files up to the server?...

Each time, I downloaded the -full.tar versions from http://www.cmsmadesimple.org/downloads/ to my local disk, unarchived them, then uploaded the unarchived files via FTP to the public_html/ folder of my site.

Once the upload was complete, I then went to http://www.(mydomain).com/install/upgrade.php and clicked on the 'install' button.

It looks like your FTP isn't overwriting the existing setup, I would check it to make sure...

What FTP client are you using?...

Managed to fix it!

I'm using Filezilla where the default for file existing was 'Always Ask'. It seems like even though I prompted it to overwrite upon each ask, it still wasn't overwriting. I then switched the default to Overwrite and tried again and it worked.

A little embarrassed that the solution turned out to be so simple
