Apologies if this is a question not really suited for this forum, but I'm unsure of the best way to search through all the modules to see if one exists for what I'm about to ask.

What I was was wondering is if there was a module which existed which took items from a database and displayed them in a rotating fashion?  So for example say I created a database table with 10 quotes, is there a module which would extract a random quote and display it on the page, then provide a link to view it in full detail?

Or is this something which is better to be designed from scratch?

If you use news items, you may be able to use the sortby random parameter if you put them in a category then call that category in News tag as it has summary and detail view...
