I am putting the finishing touches on my first CMSMS site, and i am stuck on how to merge the news and a calendar module.  I don't want there to be any redundancy (ie. having to put the same event in both the news and the calendar).  What I would like to be able to do, is to add an event to a calendar mod, then have the next 10 or so events being displayed on the news selection of my home page.  I haven't installed a calendar mod yet because I don't know which one will be allow me to do this.  I looked in to the News to Calendar Bridge, but there wasn't any thing located in the file section.

I believe CGCalendar is the only one actively maintained.  His modules are generally very good, if sometimes a bit complicated to set up (due to flexibility).

I think you could call CGCalendar silently in a page (not sure if this is possible), then use some of the output variables to populate your News module parameters.
