hi,

running cmsms 1.5.2. at random times my site will just load a blank page.

nothing associated with the occurrence... no action on my part or changes with server.

just sometimes, the site will load a blank page.

i know that not much to go on, but has anyone else seen this happen?

Most likely memory problems on the server. Modify in config.php. But everyone else (including me) will also tell you to upgrade. Do it. http://wiki.cmsmadesimple.org/index.php/User_Handbook/Installation/Upgrading

I agree on the need to upgrade. Until I do that, what in the config file should I modify in order for a "quick fix"?

I don't have any understanding of how or why this would be memory problems on the server... is there something I can modify on the server?

I have the same PROBLEM
my 4 ste periodicaly goes off (not admin section) with showing blank PAGE & I loosing visitors and search engings (raiting)
& I must periodicaly clear the {smarty} cache subFolder on server after that my sites came back & I can see my web pages?!?!?!?!
I must every time (every day) keeping an eye on this 4 sites! & it is not good (waisting my time)
I upgarded to last SMSMS ver 1,7,1 with last ver modules like cataloger and so on!!
no problem with memory limit in PHP setings

it seems the problem with caching or somting else in SMSMS I try to find but I dont know where to search!

Might be your PHP version.
Have seen similar which disappeared after upgrading the PHP version.
The first 5.2.x series had several bugs in it.

my corent PHP ver is  5.2.13

I worked with CMS Shop-Script based on Smarty
in admin section we can chouse rendering every time a visitor came and visiting site! (huge poccessfor big sites)  or use cache sub folder till changes made to site rendered one time till new changes new changes made to the site!

but it seems CMSMS have problem! and periodicly its goes off

I'd be willing to bet these links would be helpful -- they talk about random blank pages.. do the suggested test in there and I bet you will find it fix..

You could try to use static stylesheets, like suggested in the links JeremyBass posted.

- Download the file
- Upload to plugins folder
- Create new folder in the root of the site called: stylesheet - CHMOD 777
- Change in html template {stylesheet} into {static_stylesheet}

Done.

Give ScriptDeploy a try.. it's meant for css goodness

See any errors in php error log of the site?

did you do the testes I suggested?

Um.. sorry I didn't see.. do you not have "Site goes blank at random times" issue anymore?  You are using SMSMS? not CMSMS?  Also a Notice is not going to (shouldn't) cause this... if you are having the issues still do the test I suggested.. Comment out the stylesheet  {*  *}  and put them in a css file and use that... if that solves it then there are a many thing you can do some listed below..

now my site is black & goes off and i cant find the reason!!
no error in error.log
if  i clear smarty cache temp dir its start to work! but why???????
I must every time every hour check sites if they are working or not and when they are blank orr .... search engines not indexing my sites and i lossing visitors

I use module cataloger
it seams the problem in smarty templates_c temp dir
