Border pagewrapper

I want to change the looks of my border.
For example here in this forum, you can see the right and left border.
I want something like that.
In colors stylesheet i have:
div#pagewrapper {
border: 1px solid #898989;
background: #fff;
}
Border is Solid, but I want a differnt effect.
Somebody help please!
