size of content blocks in new/edit content page

Is there any way to change the size of these content blocks?  Right now I have two content blocks for date and time in addition to my primary content block. They're working fine, but on the add or edit content page, they're enormous, and they don't have to be.  Is there any parameter or anything that I can set to make them small, or am I just stuck with enormous content blocks each for a single line of text?

sorry never tried, its never posed a problem for me
