Modifying Content in CMS - Issues with WYSIWYG

Hello all,

I have been using CMS made simple (Version 1.4 "Jamaica") for the last few months to manage my company's website. However, I do not have formal IT training and have encountered a (hopefully slight) problem I need some assistance with.

Previously when I needed to edit an existing page in CMS I was able to edit it either with WYSIWYG disabled (i.e. I could see the basic content) or I could enable WYSIWYG, whereby the content was visible as code.

I went to edit something on the website yesterday but all of the pages appeared in the WYSIWYG format even when this was supposed to be turned off.

Can anyone explain how to adjust the pages so that I can see the content again while editing the pages? So I have the option of enabling or disabling WYSIWIG as required.

I have checked through the CMS help pages and FAQs but can't seem to find anything to explain how to rectify this problem.

Any assistance would be appreciated.
Regards
Paul

An administrator may have changed the site preferences or page preferences to disable the WYSIWYG checkbox that you're accustomed to.

the default TinyMCE (WYSIWYG) toolbar has an HTML button which you can use to open an HTML editor with the raw HTML code.  If it's there, you can use it.  Otherwise you need to talk to your site administrator.

While you're at it, mention to him that he needs to upgrade to the latest version (1.6.5 or 1.6.6)  1.4 is no longer supported.

I've just realised that I've made a slight mistake with the original query I posted.
The pages in CMS are all in html code now and I wanted to switch them back so I could view them in WYSIWYG but with the option of disabling WYSIWYG when I wanted to.

I guess it should just be a case of selecting/deselecting a tick box in the settings or preferences but I have played around with a few options but nothing seems to have worked, i.e. all the content edit pages still appear as html code.

Also on the issue of the administrator myself and my colleagues are the administrators and none of us have adjusted the settings. That is why I was so surprised to see the html code everywhere when trying to edit webpages.

Any ideas on this would be appreciated, though perhaps it is related to the older version of CMS we are using?

Upgrade now before you ask any more help, oldest version we help on is 1.6.5, and I bet it all goes away, be sure to read the upgrade release notes especially #7...
