SOLVED - Gallery module - is there a way to change the default folder image?

Hi all - I'm using Gallery 1.1.2 and am stumped. How does one change the default icon for a folder or subfolder? Ideally (for me, at least!), the module would pull a photo from a subdirectory instead of the generic folder icon, but I don't know if that's possible.
Any clues would be appreciated - I've searched the forums, but I find searching so darn useless most of the time (topic headers that aren't helpful, etc). But that's a problem for another day.
Many thanks in advance!

Have you tried using Google to search the forums???

Have you read the "Help" for the module?
You just select the default image from the list of images in the folder.

@jmcgin51 - Hadn't thought of circumventing the forum search that way. Good idea!
@Nullig - Yes, I have read it. I wasn't clear in my query. There are no photos directly below (they're in further subdirectories), so there is no way to select a photo from farther down the line. For example:
Horses Gallery
>Racing Horses (0 photos)
>>Thoroughbreds (9 photos)
>>Arabians (5 photos)
>Draft Horses (1 photo)
>>Belgians (2 photos)
>>Clydesdales (8 photos)
In 'Racing Horses,' there are no photos "loose" in the folder, only two subdirectories, so the module picks the default folder icon. (In 'Draft Horses' the album will be displayed using the one "loose" photo held within if selected.) I am inquiring if there is a way to have it select something from a subdirectory (ie. Thoroughbreds or Arabians) instead of defaulting. Of course, if the galleries are all empty, it would of course default to the folder icon.
I apologize for not being clear enough the first time.

With the current version it is not possible to select a thumb as albumcover that isn't in the folder itself.
You can bypass it by adding the image also to the top-folder and mark it as default (to make this the album cover) and set is as inactive (to not show it)
Hope this helps.
In version 1.2 it probably will be possible to mark a subgallery as "default", in which case the gallery will have the same albumcover as the subgallery

Wonderful! Thanks for the information. I look forward to the future release, and will use your suggestion in the interim.

just a question related to the album cover folder.png
this is my structure:
Code: Select all
-Gallery
--album1
--album2
--album3
---album3.1
---album3.2
ive set albumcover for each gallery but what i want is to use a folder image for album3. it should indicate the visitor that this album contains more albums. but i dont like the default folder image. can i change it somehow without overwriting the default one? it would be nice to set it as background image instead of img tag. because with different template and thumbnail sizes, it looks awefull.
