For the past several months, our website has been yielding a string error / smarty error on an intermittent basis after years of error free operation. Our developer has moved on and no longer has the capacity to support us. He tells us that upgrading to the latest version of CMSMS may break the "custom hacks" that were built into our site. please don't double post.  We need a lot more information.  What is your CMSMS version?  What is your PHP version?  Have you contacted your host to see if they have any suggestions?  What kind of server are you running on?
