how do i put x latest news on homepage?
just like cmsms homepage.

it looks like an rss module?
which module? how to put it so that it only show up on homepage?

x news from where, in what format, etc. etc...

from cmsms news itself.

the default install show the news headers on sidebar.
i want full news (or, at least with excerpt) on the main content.
just like a blog.

Edit page, in Content: box {news} and any parameters you think you need and it will pull the latest news article at the top every time...

Reading the default content and the Help for modules goes a long way to understanding how it all works...

by "excerpt" you mean the first x characters of the article???  as opposed to showing the entire article?

maybe it's me. but it is quite hard to find.

Got to content > news click add new article or edit the default one and you will see summary and detail edit boxes, if you look at the default news article in the front end on a page you see it has title as link to read more etc. and it even says it has no 'More' link since it doesn't use summary part...

When in News admin see link for help? it takes you to Help page of news that has all the parameters it takes including how to limit the amount of articles showing up etc. etc....
