hey, you checked a lot of systems!

As a very simple system which I liked for a long time and supported for a long time, but it is too small, I could mention CMSIMPLE

PIXIE is a system for very small fast pages, I used it for a website for a girl and she was happy with it.

Joomla! is the pure horror, no real valid code, no transparency, are there users (simple users) who understand that?
I do not know.. and I hated to work with it...

This is for a comprehensive web page, so I am trying to get all of them.

I think I saw this one. I will check again

Pixie seems to be a website builder and hosting platform as well. I will recommend this for beginners, but there is no lack of web site builders, and template-based hosting (ie godaddy). I cannot focus on that for now.

joombla, mambo, and drupal were included just for comparison sake. Don't worry, I am not running away from cmsms :)

Actually, other cmses will all be evaluated against cmsms (fe joombla). What I am trying to do is see if creating a website with those cmses is easier or harder than with cmsms.

Thank you Connie for feedback. I will appreciate help from other people as well on anything I have missed.

What kind of the comments would you like? Comments for the applications in rejected or in chosen list? Additional CMS? I have worked with Drupal, Joomla, Website Baker, e107, Typo and Wordpress.

Drupal is just to heavy for small and middle websites. Not intuitive to use for the editors from my experience. But is better choice for larger projects created by webmaster with good programming knowledge.
Joomla is just nightmare. See comments above  ;D
Website Baker (some years ago :)) limited number of add-ons, inflexible design. Not sure, how good the actual version is.
e107 - "community" for one without any knowledge. Totally inflexible in design and configufation. Admin panel is not intuitive.
Typo - difficult to understand for the end users. TypoScript is something that I would like to forget. This system is often used by agencies. I suppose that the reason for usage of this system is to give to the customer the feeling, that CMS is something very-very-very difficult and he will NEVER be able to customize the system himself. This way the agencies can bind their customers.
Wordpress - is NOT a CMS. It is blogging system. Do not compare apples and oranges.  :P

Interesting project.
You might want to have a look at:
SilverStripe Looks interesting, has a good back end layout, and seems to be expanding. http://silverstripe.org/
and
Expression Engine Comes in both professional and free (for non-commercial use) version. http://expressionengine.com/overview/pricing/

Cheers

As much as I hate Joomla I have to fight for its corner a little bit, it is a very powerful system and is very customizable just look at flexxilease.co.uk. But some parts are plain just retarded, to create a page it has to be added to a menu. So a landing page has to be built then you add it to a dummy menu grab the link and remove from the menu. Its templating is fairly inflexxible too.

I am not particularly that experienced with wordpress but I had thought it could be bastardized into a cms? This is a wordpress site: http://skateboarding.transworld.net
