Hi,
I am upgrading from 1.4.1 to 1.6.6.  I unzipped, overrode and then uploaded the files in my directory.

In the upgrade process, I get the following error message:
"Could not get instance of required module: TreeManager"
on the 6th step of the process.

Any suggestions?

Reupload full CMSms 1.6.6 version. And use corresponding checksum.

Reinstalled and tried again - same error.

Tried the checksum - there were various files from the modules folder that said "Checksum did not match!" so I reuploaded them.

Didn't work again.  :-\

So far - 7 hours trying to do this.......... is there an alternative?

Can I just do a fresh install and just drop my backup database file into PHPmyAdmin?

Note: I have also lost my site down for maintenance note on the index page and it is replaced with a "Could not get instance of required module: Front End Users"

I have even uploaded the Front End Users and Tree Manager modules.  No help.

Does the copy work on your local computer?
What are file permissions on server?
Change transfer mode (i think it  should be set binary mode), check if there is not set file name conversion.
If available use cPanel (or something similar) to upload compressed file to extract it in server.

2 full days of a fun upgrade and the whole process was.....  :-X

So I decided to do a fresh install and drop everything through PHPmyAdmin.

:D  Yeah! I see my old site!

I am a little traumatized by this whole ordeal and I hope that the next upgrades will go a lot smoother than this adventure.  Needless to say, even with these complications, I still favor CMSMS above all other CMSs.   ;) Great job developers!
