How do I change an articles displayed author name

My client (a non-profit group) is using CMSMS 1.5.1 and wishes to change the name that is displayed as the author of articles.
I've gone through the admin 'User' panel and can't seem to find anything that allows changing of the displayed name only - I assume changing the login name would mess-up site access.

- what module (if any) are you using to publish these articles?

Sorry, thought I'd included the relevant info
anyhow it's just a standard 1.5.1 install with
Articles ver. 0.0.3.6
News ver. 2.9.1

CMSMS 1.5.1 is no longer supported.

for the moment, I've just changed login name, and informed client - I'll upgrade their CMSMS to most recent version later
