I was thinking a standard image library would be great, as many modules I create have images, or require image uploads, so resizing and thumbnailing is always an issue.

I really like phpThumb 2.0

there are many image resizers in the forge.. I also have made one the fits my needs,

plus if you use uploads folder as the image uploads folder (set in the config) it's like have one area the client can manage almost all images... some so thoughts
